MUSIC FOR LILY

MUSIC FOR LILY
Music written at different times for the director Liliya Timirzyanova; our creative alliance began in 2021 in St. Petersburg with a reinterpretation of renaissance songs – two by John Dowland and one by Philip Rosseter; the vocal parts were performed by Elene Gvritishvili, a member of Theodore Currentzis MusicAeterna and an artist of the Bolshoy Theater.

In 2022 I was commissioned by Lily to write a composition for the performance Circumference from the screening of her movie Anima. I wrote the piece called Geometry of the World/Peace for thereminvox and voice – another work where Elena Gvritishvili sang and Peter Theremin, the grandson of the creator of thereminvox, played on this instrument. it was performed on June 3, 2022 on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
